# How to reboot the device

# Introduction

Use the System call to reboot the IXrouter.

## Usage

Rebooting the IXrouter requires authentication, so make sure you obtain a valid session ID first, see <Anchor label="How to authenticate to the API" target="_blank" href="doc:router-api-login">How to authenticate to the API</Anchor>.

Use the `reboot` method of `ixon.ui.system` to reboot the device.
